Approximately 6% of Kona coffee is singularly pollinated creating one rounded bean instead of the usual flat sided peas. This coffee is known as the "Kona Peaberry bean." The peaberry matures with the nutrient flow intended for two coffee beans. It has been found to have a higher oil content as well as an exceptional blend of essential minerals. This exotic mellowness and subtle flavor allows an exceptional brew without bitterness.

From the western slopes of Hawaii's volcanoes comes this exotic and rare highly aromatic coffee that combines a bouquet of aroma with a smooth body, medium acidity, and a moderate aftertaste.

What's the difference between Fancy and Extra Fancy Konas? Bigger bean for one thing. And ... it costs a lot more. Normally we don't carry Extra-Fancy Kona because the extra cost doesn't show up in the taste.
